Predominant business practices in Canada have been shaped by discriminatory European colonial perspectives that ignore the value of Indigenous knowledge. On the path to reconciliation, we must face this challenge and build trusting, mutually beneficial relationships between Indigenous and non-Indigenous businesses, community leaders and researchers. In a spirit of cocreation with our Indigenous partners, we engage in research to develop culturally appropriate solutions that respond to their needs and priorities. In so doing, we seek to understand how Indigenous knowledge and worldviews can be integrated within the design of digital applications. Financial support is provided by the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada.
